Pomp and Circumstance

When my mom was here I was in full exploration mode.  I still can’t believe how quickly her visit came and went.  During her first week we did a self-guided walking tour and started at Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard.

I have been wanting to see this for a while and just never got around to it.  Of course there were tons of people.  It was a bit chaotic in the sense that we had no clue how the events were going to unfold.  So people kept shifting their places when they heard or saw something.  Thankfully a police officer on horse eventually addressed the crowd and let us know what to expect.

I can’t believe this happens pretty much everyday and draws the amount of people that it does.  I’d say it’s worth it to see for all the show but once you get a decent spot stick to it.  Others will shift around to try to see the guards better and once they give up their spot you can get in.  That’s how I got a good spot to take these.  I think I’ll go again at some point but if you are thinking about attending yourself I’d check here for the schedule.
